Viewing Notes
Technically exceptional, but I’m sorry - I’m afraid Tarantino seems to be coasting a bit too much with his scriptwriting nowadays.
I think the director in him needs to have the confidence to reign in some of his screenplay excesses - I mean, 2 hours and 45 minutes!!
However, there are some amazing performances here - specifically Samuel L. Jackson and Christopher Waltz, both excellent. And an incredible cast of bit players, James’ Remar and Russo and Walton Goggins specifically.
WTF was Jonah Hill doing though?
All in all, it’s an entertaining one-time-only watch for me - but Tarantino’s best still remains his 1990’s output (directing and screenplays)...
