Viewing Notes

I still don’t entirely know what to make of this movie. I’m conflicted, though I like it in general. I think my biggest problem with it is the pacing (it moves too quickly, especially in the beginning), followed by the fact that it just tries to jam too much stuff in there. It really needed to be stripped down, which would have allowed Scott to take more time setting up some crucial scenes.

It is an amazing spectacle though, and it looks gorgeous on Blu. Eventually I’ll watch it again, but I don’t know that I’ll ever like it any more or less than my first viewing.
