Viewing Notes

An uneven Southern noir but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. The odd editing style, with freeze frames, the opening credits and title, and the washed out colors all point to Green paying homage to ‘70s era films of the South.

I question the choice of Phillip Glass to score the film. Even though it mostly works there are times when the musical choices seem incongruous. It’s not jarring, but definitely feels at odds with the cinematography in a few instances.

It was great to see Pat Healy show up as a mechanic. He did a great job playing white trash.
