Viewing Notes

Very well done romantic drama set in the 1950s. I actually wished they’d gone into a little more detail about the entire immigration process but I realize it was just background for the main story. Still, it was interesting to see details in scenes aboard the ship (the shared bathroom, not eating food), at the boarding house and at the community dances. Such a different way of life then, even in the 1950s, for immigrants, especially women.
