Viewing Notes

Second half of our double feature today. Saw this in the Atmos theater and it sounded great! It’s amazing how Mangold pulled off getting you to care deeply and root for the driver while simultaneously hating the company he’s trying to win for.

Both Damon and Bale were excellent and played well off each other. I also really liked Caitriona Balfe as Miles’ wife, Mollie. She projected a quiet, authoritative power and stole all her scenes. Tracy Letts, who I last saw in LADY BIRD I think, was great as the asshole man-child Henry Ford II. I almost didn’t recognize him.

Now I want to rewatch GRAND PRIX and LE MANS.
