Viewing Notes

Many of Dearden’s films deal with racism head on and this one is no exception with its focus on a budding interracial romance set against the backdrop of dockside London and a jewelry heist.

There’s some great black and white cinematography, much of it shot at night, that shows a bit of post-war grittier London circa 1950.
