Viewing Notes

Tsui Hark’s fantasy films aren’t for everyone because they require you to just accept them for what they are and not worry about reality. Once you embrace that, they can be entertaining. This one is pretty fun with some great action set pieces (action director none other than Sammo Hung) and a fun cast including Richard Ng in a great role. I also really like Bingbing Li as Jing’er.

I only had a vague sense that I might’ve watched this before, but sure enough, I did, in 2012. Really didn’t remember much of it.
