Viewing Notes

A pretty fun, short film noir that once again uses Freudian psychology to examine the criminal mind. Really great performances by William Holden as the psychotic criminal on the lamb, a captivating Nina Foch as his girlfriend, and Lee J. Cobb as the hostage and psychology professor.

There are a few smaller sub-plots that don’t really get wrapped up. Given the 74 minute running time they definitely had time to expand a little. Regardless, still fun.

I’m really enjoying these Columbia Noir box sets from Indicator as they’re not the typical big name noir and so break out of the mold quite often.
