Viewing Notes

Despite some of my favorite actors including Cheng Pei-pei, Lo Lieh and Cheng Lui being involved, this feels like a mediocre effort for all involved. The sound was really tinny and phased, the action isn’t all that great, and Lo Lieh’s anti hero is too ambivalent which makes his character more frustrating than interesting. The best part of the film is the black and white opening scene involving a murder and rape. The setting and cinematography of that scene is heads above the rest of the film.
