Viewing Notes

First time watch and this was quite a surprise. It’s actually a pretty good period action adventure and Van Damme turns in an impressive acting performance as well. Well scripted, shot and scored, this feels like the type of adventure film we used to get in the 1960s. If you’re expecting a lot of martial arts action you’re going to be disappointed, but if you let yourself get pulled into the story, you’ll enjoy it a lot more. Certainly not a typical Van Damme film but that’s ok.
