Overview

Viewing Notes
Paint by numbers. All of the regulars seemed like they were cardboard cutouts this go around. As expected, Hollywood yet again wastes the prodigious talents of Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais. I hope they get decent paydays for this kind of work because no one seems to know how to film action scenes that showcase the kind of martial arts action that they’re known and presumably hired for. I’m sure they’re both like “this is like stealing candy from a baby.” Either that or they’re both really frustrated with the multiple takes and chopped up action they have to do.
Outside of those two, the most interesting new character is Levy Tran’s Lash, who also doesn’t get nearly enough screen time. Give me a spinoff movie with Tran and Jaa teaming up to take down a drug or child trafficking ring any day over more of these slowly disintegrating oldsters.
