Viewing Notes

First, I have to state that Tonia and I finally watched the Ms. Marvel series a few months ago and while not perfect, the character of Kamala Khan is great and the family humor and drama work well. The family chemistry and balance of endearing vs. annoying don’t work quite as well in the movie, and probably a lot less so if you’ve never seen that series.

The movie starts off well enough and built up nicely for a bit before faltering and subsiding into something more average by the end. Either story shouldn’t have been so “planets hang in the balance” or it should have actually had a longer running time because as it is, it feels like the second half was chopped up and incomplete.

Also, in a theater that was maybe 1/8th full, what possesses a single person to choose to sit next to a couple? Buddy, if you need human contact that badly, hire a prostitute.

I’m gonna watch that series now. Kamala Khan and her family were highlights of the movie.
