Viewing Notes

I respect Ida Lupino a lot because she was one of the few women directors in Hollywood at a time when it was most definitely a male-only club, and they weren’t anxious to see it any other way.

She’s also beautiful and a good actor. The opening scene with the car crash gets you right into the story in a pretty shocking way. The scene in the mill near the end is classic noir with great black and white cinematography.
