Viewing Notes
My fourth film at the Stanley Film Festival and easily one of my favorites from 14 movies I saw during those 3 days. Despite being a remake, the POV approach is refreshing and the camera work is outstanding. Downtown Los Angeles has rarely looked better on film. Glossy instead of grimy. Combined with the pulsating score and Elijah Wood’s committed performance, this is a clear winner. I get why some would not be as enamored but if you buy into this idea, you might become as smitten.
