Viewing Notes

Not sure anyone can honestly say this is a “good” film. But that doesn’t diminish the entertainment value. So over the top with the nods to TOS, the action, the plot holes, the physics, the overacting, etc. I cried a few times… from my laughter at how totally ridiculous this movie is. Even the emotional beats and reimagining of the Trek universe and characters. On par with the first film but a little less wonder and a lot more machismo. Nice to see the future holds more manly men ruling with their emotions. It’s unfortunate that there’s a real lack of strong women characters. Pretty much like TOS. Ah well, it’s entertaining but so very stupid. I’m sure I’ll see it again.
