Viewing Notes

Our third movie of our last movie night of the year and one I suggested based on our previous two films. Seemed to fit the theme and only I had seen this movie. The kids really enjoyed this flick (as I expected) and commented how it was better than a Tarantino film, music to my ears.

On this rewatch having seen Shogun Assassin earlier in the year I was surprised how little of this film actually made it to that cut. I just read that something like 12 minutes were used. Crazy! I suppose it was just the bit with the origin story. Also interesting how much more tame and less crazy this film is compared to the sequels. Restrained. Still an awesome flick and I’m looking forward to revisiting the sequels.

Great movie night flick!
