Viewing Notes

“Introducing Shannon Tweed” I had no idea but pretty cool if so. The close-ups of the rats really bring the horror as does the framing by Cosmatos. He really nails the terror of infestation with only glimpses of the monster. Peter Weller is terrific.

Interesting as listen to the commentary with Cosmatos and Weller that Weller even acknowledges George’s excellent framing. Easily the most noticeable thing in addition to the camera angles. Really different approach with the camera that gives an extra layer of uneasiness.

I love listening to George on this commentary. I wonder if he’s done others. Weller is also insightful. He’d actually make a good narrator for an audio book.

George and Peter don’t consider this a horror movie. But it really is. Montreal also makes a good stand-in for NYC.
