Viewing Notes

Giving this a ratings bump because I enjoyed it so much. Honestly this movie couldn’t be more predictable but I find a lot a charm in that. As I was watching I got a real old Hollywood vibe. Throw logic out the window as things just happen and you let them happen because it’s entertainment. It’s preposterous that the LMNTRIX crew could put together their final dance routine in one day as demonstrated in the movie. But who cares.

None of the routines or battles are up to SU3D standards but still quite fun and creative. Where I was soured on the last film despite some killer dance sequences, this movie spun that around with a simple plot and cheesy drama. It works for me. Definitely more so than the last installment, this movie has a heart. Sappy, sure, but I dig that.

The only big downside is that I feel like some of the routines and dance sequences were cut to give way to more of the story. The end credits reveal a lot things not shown in the movie. Also I gotta believe they filmed the battle between Grim Knight and Divine Intervention. I hope so and that it’s on the blu-ray release.

Now I really want to revisit SU2TS to see how this compares. Right now this is my second favorite after SU3D.
