Viewing Notes

This movie is a blast. Plenty of great sequences and stunts with three excellent female leads in Brigitte Lin, Cherie Chung and Sally Yeh. A little suspension of belief is required to buy into the transitions (like how the characters can so quickly get into their stage makeup and costumes in mere seconds) but it’s all part of the charm. So much great chemistry between the saboteurs as they plot to steal the documents to overthrow the government.

This is a better example of blending comedy and violence, which at times is very violent. Can see why this film was ranked so highly on the LoveHKfilm top 200. One of Tsui Hark’s best films.
