Viewing Notes

Second film on Day 4 of Noir City Chicago 6 film festival. Hits all the right beats for a compelling film noir. Great femme fatale in Audrey Totter with the kind of character you love to hate. Richard Basehart plays the perfect milquetoast subservient husband lost in his ways to keep his horrible wife. Really love how entangled this becomes and how hilariously devoted Cyd Charisse’s character is to a man she barely knows. Terrific all around with some fun moments with the two detectives investigating the case.

Great day at Noir City with two superb films.
