Viewing Notes

A rare Vestron Video VHS I picked up from my library! Had never heard of it and of course was intrigued by the title and story. Extremely weird mash-up of 80s tropes including the alien’s (a humanoid) naked arrival on Earth a la The Terminator. And it’s set in dirty ghetto of Los Angeles. It’s more crime than sci-fi with the alien man (Brett Baxter Clark) landing in the middle of pimp territory and a gang war facing down gangs, pimps, and corrupt cops.

There’s also a community center where he helps the area youth reform plus a break dancing scene a la BREAKIN’. This is really like 4 or 5 different movies in one. Yet not a very good one. But totally the kind of movie for me and even more so on Vestron VHS.

Definitely a movie I’d love to see at B-Fest. It’s so perfect for that event.
