Viewing Notes

Lo Meng is in this?!?!?! Omg this is ROCKY IV.

Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung are so great here that it makes up for the Nationalistic tone and overly evil British antagonists. Not as a keen on this story as I was for the first movie but I wanted to view this since the third movie arrives next week and I’m hoping to catch that in theater.

I love love love that Lo Meng is in this and that he has a decent supporting role.

Requires some suspension of belief to think that western boxing at that time was at all at a level to compete with higher forms of kung fu like Wing Chun. I’d even have a hard time believing any conventional boxer from today could compete with kung fu masters of that time. I get that this was all done for the drama of this movie but really those guys should clean the floor with a conventional boxer.

Still pretty amazed that this is Rocky IV formula all over again (set 40 years into the past).
