Overview

A zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in this reimagining of Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is a master of martial arts and weaponry and the handsome Mr. Darcy is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper class prejudice. As the zombie outbreak intensifies, they must swallow their pride and join forces on the blood-soaked battlefield in order to conquer the undead once and for all.

Viewing Notes

Expected to dislike this based on all the WOM. This isn’t a great movie but I found it mostly entertaining especially to see how they altered the original story to squeeze in the zombie aspect. Probably helped that I watched Pride & Prejudice (2005) a couple days beforehand to get reacquainted with the story. All the characters were fresh on my mind so it was neat to see this albeit silly at times.

Didn’t care for the actor that portrays Darcy in this. That was the only nitpick for me. Also would’ve liked to see Lena Headey get more to do even if that character didn’t do much in the original story. She’s so great as this character.

Probably wouldn’t watch this again but it’s fine.
