Viewing Notes

I believe I’ve seen this quite some time ago when the DVD was readily available (either from Netflix or my library) but it’s since gone out of print. Had to get a file from CG for this viewing. Terribly sad that these Ishiro Honda films aren’t available like his Godzilla films. So much greatness here from the ensemble cast of Toho excellence to Akira Ifukube’s wonderful score and Eiji Tsuburaya’s special effects work.

All that combined makes for a fun sci-fi crime flick. It’s so entertaining to see these actors work together. Akiko Wakabayashi is beautiful as ever and I love seeing Hideyo Amamoto in a bit part. This film deserves better treatment.
