Viewing Notes

Whoa a Japanese Naschy flick?! Didn’t know there was such a thing!

And this is a crime action horror mystery revenge flick directed by Naschy. Of course. There’s also a death-by-pigs scene which you don’t see everyday. It’s like Naschy had all these ideas and said, “fuck it. Let’s do them all.” It ends on such a batshit note I gotta give him props for that.

This is the first film I’ve watched off the new Scream Factory Paul Naschy Blu-ray set. Easily the best looking Naschy film I’ve seen in terms of the print quality. Many I’ve seen are usually poor quality on budget discs and whatnot. Often trimmed to remove the nudity or violent scenes. I’m curious how Scream / Shout Factory decided on these 5 films given his long career spanning so many horror films.

There’s a scene filmed in Japan at a temple and it looks like one of the places I visited. Love to find out exactly where that was shot.
