Viewing Notes

Was thrilled that TKU-TV programmed another classic film for the chanbara Saturday slot. Especially one that stars Yumiko Nogawa, a favorite from sixties Japanese cinema. Was also please that the broadcast stream was stable for the majority of the runtime (only cut out once).

This is a wild ninja vs ninja flick that uses more magic ninja arts in the attacks. It’s fantastical in that way and a lot of fun to see the different attacks like “Robust Monsoon” and “Fantasy Bodhisattva” among others. Then watch the men ninja try to outwit the clever Kunoichi.

Guess a grey market disc must exist since TKU screened it. This would be a fun one to track down and revisit w/o the constraints of the broadcast (viewing via my phone).
