Viewing Notes

Super happy that the Park Ridge Classic Film Series scheduled this as it’s been on my watchlist for far too long and seeing in theater for the first viewing was ideal. Pretty epic film with some spectacular photography for its time and not just that famous zoom shot through the night club.

I get that the love triangle between David, Jack and Sylvia is what’s tying these pilots together but I truly feel they have a thing for each other more. Their final moments together prove that out.

Odd things: there’s a typo on one of the dialogue cards when David’s mother calls Jack “John”. Also there’s a split second of Clara Bowe nudity when she’s changing after being caught in the hotel room w/the passed out Jack. Surprised that was left in even for pre-code.
