Viewing Notes

Unreal that this was released in 1930. There is one battle scene w/an explosion that is just as gruesome today as it was back then (probably worse then). I had to rewind it because I couldn’t believe it. Powerful movie. Wish it had actually been in German / used German actors / at least had German accents on the actors. Doesn’t detract that much but this could’ve easily been American soldiers going thru the same horrifying experience on the frontline. Devastating ending.
