Viewing Notes

This is showing at theaters this weekend. I was curious bc it’s anime but unfamiliar w/the property. Opted not to see it in theater bc it’s only an hour long and usually when I’m unfamiliar w/a property it makes for a confusing viewing. This is no exception.

Found it perfectly subbed on YouTube with an excellent transfer. Kinda crazy but at least I could view it there without committing to the theater and being disappointed. As expected, this film just drops you right in the middle of something with a large cast of characters. Nothing makes any sense if you haven’t been following the series (I suppose). What is apparent is that this is a harem anime and rather “eechi” as many harem anime tend to be (skeevy, pervy, etc.). Lots of fan service and big boobs wth big boob talk all while battling a powerful demon lord.

I always figure when someone has a negative attitude towards anime and/or anime fans, this is the type of anime that leads to that belief. And I don’t blame them. Obviously there’s more extreme examples and then completely different types on the other other end of the spectrum. But usually I feel it’s this type that is often singled out probably bc it’s meant to be innocent while still be obviously suggestive. This would be weird to watch in a theater.

Anyways, I can’t say this is even a good example of harem anime but then again I don’t fully understand the story or the characters. Yet this short feature didn’t do anything to make me want to know more about it. It just does its thing and looks pretty doing doing it.
