Viewing Notes

Another one I thought I had seen but nope. Three Otomo manga stories adapted here with diminishing returns. The opening story “Magnetic Rose” is incredible. Like 8.5/10 good. It’s a great space horror / haunted ship in space tale that could easily be made into a feature film. The middle segment “Stink Bomb” really lost me bc it goes for comedy here. Had this been done as a serious ‘experiment gone wrong’ cautionary tale it would’ve worked on me. The final story also was a mild miss for me despite some wonderful animation.

If there was a blu of this I’d get it just to show the first segment at movie nights.
