Viewing Notes

Another decent Universal flick from the Boris Karloff set I got from the library before shit went tits up. Glad I was able to get at least one multi-movie set. Had I known the library was gonna close I would’ve grabbed another or two.

Anyways, Karloff has a small part in this one as the doctor / herbalist / shaman to the evil owner of the black castle. Story is basic where a dude travels to the castle looking for two other dudes have gone missing. Discovers the owner is a fucking psycho murderer and also woos his wife away convincing her that her husband is a lunatic (for real, he has a huge alligator pit in his castle). The dude and the wife try to escape but not before some run-ins w/the owner and his thugs (Lon Chaney Jr!). It’s fun and would be a delight to see on the big screen during a horror marathon b/c I guess they considered this horror back in the day even tho I will not.
