Viewing Notes

This was the second film in the Umetsugu Inoue double feature on Cinephobe.tv and also starring Yûjirô Ishihara in the lead role as a hotheaded seaman seeking revenge for his father’s murder. Initially thought this would be a murder mystery type of flick but it’s really mostly a drama since the mystery is revealed early. Then it’s mostly a relationship and character study between Ishihara role and that of the pretty Ruriko Asaoka whom I didn’t realize is the songstress Lily in the later Tora-san films.
