Overview
Teenagers in a small town are dropping like flies, apparently in the grip of mass hysteria causing their suicides. A cop’s daughter, Nancy Thompson, traces the cause to child molester Fred Krueger, who was burned alive by angry parents many years before. Krueger has now come back in the dreams of his killers’ children, claiming their lives as his revenge. Nancy and her boyfriend, Glen, must devise a plan to lure the monster out of the realm of nightmares and into the real world…

Viewing Notes
Was listening to a podcast that was talking about the NOES flicks and most being available on HBO Max. Decided to spin up the first one while doing a lot of sorting and trashing. This is still a bonafide classic with legit scares. Still recall when I got this vhs rental for an all night HS birthday movie marathon and one of my buddies went home bc he was so scared! Haha
Not sure if there’s a 4K UHD release but I’d love to see it. The transfer via HBO is so dark and murky. Could be my crummy Roku/Wi-Fi too (plus the movie is very dark). Around the 65 minute mark my Roku decided it didn’t want to play the movie anymore so I had to do connection check and hard restart which sucks. I think it’s the device that is bad or something with HBO. Fortunately got it to finish the movie.
