Viewing Notes

Been viewing political thrillers via Prime and of course this one popped up as recommended after just watching The Parallax View. So I started this movie and realized within the opening minutes that I had seen this (bc the scene involves a small cameo by Joe Spinell). However, I couldn’t recall how it all played out so I decided to continue*. This is a wild flick that plays loosey-goosey with a few of the story beats but I dig this kind of conspiracy craziness. Plus everyone is acting their hearts out esp. Jeff Bridges, bless him. Also Belinda Bauer is absolutely lights out gorgeous and Toshiro Mifune is cast in a throwaway role. Such a weird flick that I would totally own if there’s a good HD release. Seems like one Kino would have.

*this is amusing and also somewhat sad how poor my memory has become regarding films I’ve seen. According to my notes on my previous viewing I not only watched the movie but also listened to the commentary track. Crazy that I forgot all that on this viewing.
