Viewing Notes

Not one of my better decisions to drive 30 minutes south to Melrose Park and watch a 2.5 hour movie the day after my second vax dose. Really just a series of bad decisions. Anyways I had it on my calendar bc Cinemark is one of the few cinemas screening the movie and it was a $5 matinee. It is a cool movie to see big with great sound (it will look/sound nice in the Secret Cinema).

I was reluctant about this entire project bc I’m so sick of zombie movies but since ZS made one of the best modern zombie flicks and the premise of this movie isn’t just a straight zombie film. So I wanted to check it out on the big screen, mild headache and achy body and all. Again, not smart.

At least the movie is entertaining with a terrific Dave Bautista as the lead. This is essentially a similar spin on TRAIN TO BUSAN: PENINSULA, which I believe is in the description (I haven’t paid much attention to the marketing). Possibly the most impressive thing is how far digital environments have improved. A lot of this movie looks good in that post-apocalypse kind of way.

Huh, you’re right, the premise is very similar to PENINSULA!
