Viewing Notes

Dinner & a movie: was painting and decided to flip this on in lieu of the Cubs game, which I was following the score updates anyways and that was a crazy game. Plugged my laptop into my receiver so I could crank the volume since I was painting the entrance corridor. Was particularly interested in tuning in to this installment of The Last Drive-In bc Bruce Campbell (and later Bill Lustig) joining Joe Bob for the interview segments. That was really the highlight for me since I couldn’t watch closely until I was done painting.

It was cool to hear/see Bruce just giving candid answers to JB’s questions. Was surprised to hear that EVIL DEAD cost that much to make (~$400K). Neat to hear about making the MANIAC COP flicks w/Lustig and why Bruce wanted to get killed early in the sequel after getting a bump in salary.

I did finish painting and made a frozen pizza so I could watch the rest of this movie. Was amusing to see Sam Raimi as the reporter at the St. Patrick’s Day parade. Such a Larry Cohen / Bill Lustig move to shoot all that footage during the parade! The first and only time I’ve seen this was nearly ten years ago at a movie night w/Ron and Pat. Since I have the blu so I’ll probably give it a proper viewing soon after hearing all the little factoids from Bruce and Bill.
