Overview
When Honey’s uncle gets kidnapped by the evil criminal gang known as “Panther Claw,” she must use her magical powers of transformation to save him. Meanwhile the same crime group has been responsible for a number of other crime sprees across Tokyo. In the process, Honey teams up with the seemingly cold police woman Natsuko Aki and hot shot journalist Seiji Hayami as well as battle the four “claws” of the Panther Claw gang to save her uncle and the rest of the city.

Part of the Hideaki Anno birthday celebration on DKU. Wasn’t planning on viewing this bc I own the DVD but then realized that I had no idea where it was bc it was still in the collector lunchbox. So what the hell I just watched it. Haven’t seen this since around the time it was released and probably got it via one of the anime torrent sites back when I was d/l lots of anime that wasn’t ported to the US.
This is such a fun and colorful adaptation of the source material. Super silly yet earnest in the approach I can’t help but love it. Having former gravure idol Eriko Sato in the titular role helps. Dig all the costumes and crazy villains. Completely forgot that Mikako Ichikawa has good supporting role. She’s so young!
If there was a good Blu release for this I would totally get it.
