Viewing Notes

This was the Disney Day secret screening in the 4pm slot at AMC. The timing worked out to see this directly after my first film and my thought is that if the secret movie was something I didn’t care about I’d just leave. But since it was this movie I definitely stayed to finally see it on the big screen. What’s weird as I thought I might have already seen it big during a previous re-release event but I actually haven’t viewed since 2010 when I got it on Blu.

That tripped me out b/c there are *so many* scenes & bits & sequences that I recalled as tho I had been watching the movie every year for the past 10 years. Why this blew my mind is b/c I can barely recall movies I watched last week, esp. earlier this year as in the case of THE TOUGH GUYS that I saw in January ‘21 then watched tonight and not much of it registered despite really enjoying the movie back in January. I don’t understand it. I’d love to know what this phenomenon is called.

Worth mentioning that on this viewing I noted in my head of how clever this premise is, the entire MONSTERS world + the story. Then I see my previous notes indicating that I wasn’t into the story and felt it weak. Wild what a decade can do to your opinion / reaction.
