Another long overdue revisit and part of my ongoing Jet Li project for 2022. Nearly everything with Jet is an 8 or 9 and the rest is a 5 so probably a soft 7 out of 10. The is 100 percent a must-watch for Jet Li and Corey Yuen fans (Corey does the action direction and should’ve just directed the entire movie). Some wonderful fight choreography and long shots. I would just watch a reel w/only those bc Jet is so great to see.
The story is a bit whatever and ridiculously OTT. Like yes it’s a movie world but w/o an ounce of believability. Like cops just kill innocent bystanders willy nilly no big deal. Somehow the entire Paris police force is corrupt and yet I still don’t know why they wanted the Chinese diplomat assassinated. Perhaps it’s explained somewhere but so mishy mash of story.
