Viewing Notes

Not available on any affordable Blu-ray or recent Hammer set to my knowledge so I saved from the TCM Mummy spotlight they did last month. Pretty cool they ran a bunch of mummy and Egyptian themed films to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the discovery of the Tutankhamun‘s tomb. Another reason why I love this channel.

This was the first adaptation of a Universal Monster by Hammer Films per an agreement they struck with Universal Studios. Definitely colorful but lacks the mood of Universal’s black & white film. But I do love Chris Lee’s take on the mummy! He nails it and looks great and menacing.
