Viewing Notes

Did a Ving Rhames double feature tonight. Worth noting, however, that this is as much Kelly Hu’s movie as his. She’s great as a lead and it makes me sad she didn’t get more opportunities like this. She has a super fun fight with Scott Adkins in a church which is the highlight of the movie. I wish Adkins got more screentime bc his character is amusing.

The action, the practical FX and stunt work are all top notch. It’s the story that drags it down with Carlyle’s character. On paper this probably seemed like a novel idea for a spin on the classic assassin versus assassin premise. Still a worthy viewing for Hu and all that bloodshed.

I just ordered this after seeing someone else tweet about it and immediately checked to see if you’d seen it or not. 100% not surprised you’ve seen this!
