Easily the worst movie I’ve seen for my 31 Days of Horror event… and probably the worst movie I’ve seen this year. Even though it’s listed as horror I’m not gonna give it that classification bc it really isn’t. Rather it’s a glorified Lifetime movie. Despite the title they didn’t bother to remake the original or improve on it, which totally could be done. Instead they made this nonsense.
Psycho dude obsessed with his girlfriend kills her family and goes to prison. Then he escapes from prison on her prom night. No mystery, no suspense. He just kills each person as they come back to the hotel room. Even Idris Elba cannot save this movie (he’s a detective and all the cops are dummies). Just bad writing and so uninspired and boring.
It does look good, shot and produced well which makes it worse bc clearly they had the budget to make this but turned in a turd of a story.
