Overview
Peter Parker is an outcast high schooler abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors, his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

Viewing Notes
A-MEH-ZING SPIDER-MAN, am I right? Rimshot.
I didn’t expect much out of this one and I didn’t receive much either. It was too soon for a reboot after the horrible SPIDER-MAN 3 and the movie didn’t do much to improve upon it.
Don’t get me wrong, some things were great, like the fighting style and Emma Stone. And, I actually Andrew Garfield kind of endaring. But other things weren’t so great, like the romance, The Lizard’s design bearing little resemblance to the comics, Spider-man always ripping off his mask to tell everyone his real identity, and that whole final “heading to battle” sequence with the cranes and what nots. There was ample dumb and it was spread thick.
The franchise has potential with Garfield, so I’ll try to keep an open mind; my hopes just aren’t very high.
