Detective Rollins (Jason Miller, Exorcist), is haunted by a mistake he made twenty years earlier—he shot a handcuffed man who turned out to be innocent. His guilty conscience forces him to conceal the facts of the murder— a young mother who was killed during a lovers’ quarrel. He is forced to face his past again when the real killer gets released from prison and comes looking for revenge.
