Viewing Notes

When Ripley’s lifepod is found by a salvage crew over 50 years later, she finds that terra-formers are on the very planet they found the alien species. When the company sends a family of colonists out to investigate her story… all contact is lost with the planet and colonists. They enlist Ripley and the colonial marines to return and search for answers. This is just as good a film as the first one. Where the first film replicated the haunted house motif, this one opts to go the zombie horde route and that coupled with Cameron’s great dialogue, characters and effects work make this sequel to the first film work so well. I have to recommend the director’s cut over the theatrical as there is a lot more development for Ripley and Newt as well as the addition of a few moments that add to that horde attack feel. Couple that with one of my favorite animatronic beasties with the alien queen and you have one of my top favorite films.
