Viewing Notes

I hadn’t seen this since shortly after it first came out in 1982.  It was very nostalgic for me, seeing San Francisco in the 1980s.  Also, I better appreciated and understood the Chinese-American experience on this viewing.

A couple of lines really cracked me up.  A restaurant cook says, “We don’t have won ton soup.  We have won ton spelled backwards: not now!”

And a guy sings to the tune of “Staying Alive”:  You can tell by the way I use my wok, I’m a Chinese cook.
