Viewing Notes

Wong Kar-wai worked with cinematographer Christopher Doyle for the first time here and you can see the visual style of Chungking Express and In the Mood for Love starting to take shape.  Very moody and sensual.

Tony Leung appears in a puzzling scene at the end, which apparently was the beginning of a sequel that was never completed.
