Viewing Notes

A well-made film, but also frustrating to watch.  Two obnoxious young thugs terrorize the passengers of a subway train one by one, but no one stands up to these punks.  I know that’s the point of the film, but it’s still frustrating.

The two thugs are Martin Sheen and Tony Musante in their screen debuts and both are very good.  The great Thelma Ritter appears in her next to last film.  Also starring a few future stars:  Beau Bridges, Donna Mills, and Ed McMahon.
