Viewing Notes

One of my favorite films.  Basically a modern day western with the great Spencer Tracy riding into town.  Is there a better trio of nasty villains than Robert Ryan, Ernest Borgnine, and Lee Marvin?  And Anne Francis, one of the sexiest stars of the 1950’s, is just the cherry on top.  John Sturges was an underrated director.  He made a handful of great action films.
