Viewing Notes

I saw this in the theatre when it first came out and it’s always left a strong impression. It does such a great job showing what it would be like to live off the land, both the beauty of nature and the harshness.

Redford was a big star at the time and you have to give him credit for wanting to do this film, which no one thought would make any money.  It wound up doing pretty well at the box office.
